Quotable Quotes

“What could be more symbolic of Rotary than a great symphony orchestra, bringing together in perfect harmony people from many different countries, nationalities, races, creeds, and cultures, representing many specialized talents but each playing a different note on a different instrument, and each essential for the perfection of the whole?”

About Rotary Club of Makati Paseo de Roxas

History

rcm paseo history

The Game starts in the land where it is played. This is the game of gold, a gentleman’s game based on the highest ethical standards of integrity, fairness and truthfulness.

Anchored on these objectives and on the close bonding of a group of 36 avid golfers, thus was born, one of the youngest Rotary Club of Makati , that is, Paseo de Roxas, eighteen years ago, on May 23, 1990.

Playing as godfather and emissary of then District Governor Herman Gamboa, Rotarian Ben Domingo, who is also an ardent golfer, invited the group composed of businessmen, corporate officers and budding tycoons to a simple dinner, one weekend, after a round of golf in Baguio.
The dinner was Godfather Ben’s and Past District Governor Herman’s ingenous plan to entice the loosely-held group, whose commn denominator was golf, to form the newest Rotary Club in Makati.
Over dinner, the two painstakingly explained the objective of a Rotary Club, which are basically moored on the same objectives of playing golf; truthfulness, fostering goodwill and better friendships, and the development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service.
Thus, is not surprising to see a cross golf clubs under the Rotary whell on the banner of the Rotary Club of Makati – Paseo de Roxas as well as the Golfer’s Prayer in its souvenir programs.
From  that fruitful dinner almost 2 decades past, the Rotary Club of Makati – Paseo de Roxas has grown in terms of reaching out to those in need, working hard to achieve peace and unity, and promoting goodwill and friendship.¬

Geetings my fellow Rotarians!

Let me begin by thanking everyone for their service to RCM last year. RCM Paseo will continue with its existing excellent projects such as the “Dancubator” , “Inuming Tubig Para Sa Buong Bansa” – Washtube and Jocef Water Ceramic Filters. The date for our annual Tournament of Champions has already been set. We will still be hosting the New Generation Conference at Asia Pacific College and RYLA Camp in Antipolo.

As part of our commitment to public service, we will launch our new livelihood projects such as soap and jewelry making for the housewives in Bulacan and Ilocos, as well as our new public image project – Photography Contest. Medical Missions, Feeding Programs, Tree Planting and Clean Up Drive Projects are also on the line up for this term.

As you can see, there is a lot going on at Rotary Club Makati Paseo this year.  Join in the activities and learning. I also encourage you to surf around and see what we have here that can help you.

I continue to be touched by our Mission, “Service above Self.”

All of this is possible because of supportive members like you. Thank you for joining me in this effort. Let’s all make this year a fruitful, fun and productive one!

With sincere gratitude,

Raissa D. Hernandez
